NeuroQuant® MRI

A Tool to Diagnose and Evaluate Alzheimer’s Disease and Neurodegenerative Disorders

Washington Radiology now offers the most precise tool available for diagnosing early Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. A NeuroQuant MRI is a volumetric MRI which measures regional brain structures known to deteriorate in patients with Alzheimer’s disease and other related neurodegenerative disorders. NeuroQuant is the only volumetric MRI application to use an FDA approved database of normal same age peers for comparison.

A NeuroQuant MRI is an additional sequence that is added to a brain MRI. The NeuroQuant software provides a patient’s physician with measurements of regional brain structures involved with neurodegenerative disorders and their comparison to same aged peers.  NeuroQuant MRIs are suggested for early stage diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias as well as monitoring the disease over time. As with other MRIs there is no radiation, IV contrast or pain involved. NeuroQuant requires no special preparation except a 2 hour fast prior to appointment time.

Founded by Cortech Labs in San Diego, NeuroQuant has been used in research institutions and in outpatient facilities in California.

NeuroQuant MRI appointments are available at Washington Radiology’s Fairfax , Chevy Chase or Washington, DC  locations.
