Key facts to know about breast health:

  • Women of Average Risk. Women with an average risk of breast cancer should begin annual screening with mammography at age 40.
  • Women with Dense Breasts. Speak to your physician about supplemental breast cancer screening with Breast MRI.
  • Black Women. Statistics show that Black women are 40 percent more likely to die from breast cancer. And they have a higher incidence of triple negative breast cancer, a more aggressive form.
  • Young Women. With rising rates of breast cancer in younger women, it’s important to have a risk assessment performed by your primary care physician to determine if genetic testing is necessary.
